What makes the Opal Restaurant Tour unique?
Calling all foodies, explorers and menu mavericks – the Opal Restaurant Tour is a food lovers’ paradise and a delectable way to spend your Sunday.
Our taste trail leads you through some city hot spots at your own pace. You’ll try Indian street food at Indico, the deep flavours of The Mayan, light-hearted Tex-Mex from Perios, Indo-Persian at Qavali and Japanese fusion at Mooncat.
You’ll have a choice of one of four dishes in each restaurant, and one drink option including our signature cocktails, wine, beer, tea or a soft drink. Our venues are part of our own group, which means reassuring consistency in quality and quantity throughout the day.
Arrive at the Mailbox sometime from noon onwards, and move through the tour at your own pace, aiming for your final venue before 6 pm. This leaves plenty of time to relax, savour every bite and explore the cocktail menu in each restaurant.

Every restaurant is one of our own venues, so you can be confident that our menu was carefully selected by our chef, our portion sizes are perfectly proportioned, and our quality is consistent.
We are delighted to introduce you to our Spirit of Anarchy brand – with every cocktail carefully devised by our in-house mixologist to add a delicious spin on classic recipes, themed to the individual venue.

At each stop, you’ll receive a beautifully designed menu card highlighting your exclusive tour menu options, along with a handy mini map to guide you to the next location. No rush, no pressure – just a delicious journey through some of the city’s most exciting flavours.

Join us for the Opal Restaurant Tour and make your taste buds dance with joy!
We ask you to arrive at your first location between 12 noon and 1 pm and then move through each venue at your own pace, with an estimate of 3 to 6 hours to complete the tour. Please note that Mooncat does not open until 3 pm.
From our experience, even though you start your adventure alone, you’ll soon be chatting with your fellow foodies as you move through each restaurant. After all, you all have something in common – a love of delicious and varied cuisines.
Each venue in our Opal Tour has a table capacity of 6-8 people. If your group is over 6 people, please confirm that at the point of booking. While we may not be able to arrange a single table for your party, our venues will ensure you are seated close together.
We love to arrange events and host parties. If you have a large number of guests and would like to arrange a private tour, please contact us to discuss options and dates.

We’ve carefully selected the menu choices for a flow of flavours and cuisines, which we know you’ll love. If you have dietary requirements or allergies that are not accommodated in the options provided, please contact us to discuss options before booking. Choosing an alternative from the main venue menus on the day will be charged at the main menu price.
The Opal Tour has been designed for a wonderful adult eating experience. You’re welcome to book a place for your child at the standard ticket price. We do not provide children’s menus. Babies are welcome.
We’ve selected the venues in each tour for their convenience to each other. The furthest distance between two restaurants is at most a 10-minute walk – giving you the chance to digest and enjoy a Canalside stroll between courses.
Although you do not have set arrival times at each venue, our restaurants plan and reserve tables based on estimated timeframes. Please stick to the planned route to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Your Opal tour is valid for the day of booking only and cannot be split across separate weekends. We’ve planned our menus to provide ample portion sizes at each venue, so you’ll finish the day fully satiated – but we do suggest you don’t have breakfast first!
It’s easy to reach us by train or car. The Mailbox is just a 6-minute walk from New Street Station. If you’re driving in, there are plenty of car parks between Navigation Street and New Street station.
